1) Keep Left: As already stated you will need to drive on the left. Always remember to return to the inner left lane after over taking to allow on-coming traffic to over take you.
2) Mind the Motor Cyclists: There are many motorcyclists in Kampala sharing roads with cars. They are in their thousands and will drive on both your left and right. Be sure to look out so you avoid running into them. If for some bad luck you run into one, please stop immediately and if there is a policeman in sight seek their indulgence.
3) Be aware of Potholes: Whether you are in the city, suburbs or countryside, expect potholes almost anywhere. Keeping a reasonable speed will help you navigate through the potholes without problems.
4) Expect Unmarked Speed bumps: There are many unmarked speed bumps in Uganda especially on unpaved roads. These bumps are uneven so you need to exercise extra caution when going over them. There is also a general lack of road signs on many roads. Take note of unmarked bends, dark and blind spots.
5) Keep driving speed limits: The maximum speed on the express highway from Entebbe to Kampala is 100KmPh.
